Family-friendly walks Carlow – Brownshill Dolmen

Location: Hacketstown road opposite Pratts garage-5km from Carlow town on R726

Path: Great condition- New tarmac surface

Parking: Free parking for 10-20 cars but no separation from the main road. Keep a good hold of young kids.

Facilities: Seats at the Dolmen. Shop across the road

Features: A nice 0.5km walk out to the Dolmen along the edge of a cornfield on a nice smooth path. Access to the Dolmen is free and the Dolmen is the largest of its kind in Europe.

Family-friendly walks Carlow – Oakpark Forest Walk

Location: Ballaghmoon-5km from Carlow town 

Path: Good condition a little humpy

Parking: Free parking

Facilities: Playground, toilets & picnic tables. Seating scattered throughout

Features: Free admission. 50 hectares of woodland and lake walks. Choice of 4 walks over 4km. Nice playground at the start.

Family-friendly walks Carlow – Delta Sensory Gardens Carlow Town

Location: Carlow Town on the N80 ring road

Path: Great Condition- Gravel & Paving 

Parking: Free parking with overflow park beside it

Facilities: Coffee shop, toilets and small shop. Ample seating throughout and treehouse viewing area in the centre of park

Features: 2.5 Acres of gardens with 16 interconnecting gardens filled with Garden games and water features. Admission is €5 for adults and kids are free. Kids will love every corner of these beautiful gardens.
